Dana Thomas House Sumac Green Vase
The abstract onamentation of the Sumac plant is a reoccurring motif throught the Dana House. This Sumac Vase expresses the architectonic, uncluttered shapes favored by Frank Lloyd Wright as the Sumac motif is arranged as a repeat pattern at the eight points of the vase’s octagonal form. The original vase ornaments the side of the fireplace in the reception area of the house.
This reproduction of the vase is less than 1/2 the size of the original at 13″ high and 5″ wide. The material is high quality ceramicware with porcelain characteristics. Each piece is handcrafted and hand-glazed resulting in its infividual character in both size and color. This decorative vase is not designed to hold water. Made by River Ceramics in Illinois, USA.
