Wright’s March Balloons theme is of one of twelve designs submitted for a series of covers to Liberty magazine in 1927.  Although rejected by the magazine editors as too “radical”, the image became one of Wright’s most popular. The design reveals his lifelong interest in and affection for geometric shapes, particularly the circle, which represented wholeness and completeness to him.
