Wright’s Saguaro Forms and Cactus Flowers interpretation of a desert landscape was one of twelve designs submitted for a series of covers to Liberty magazine in 1927.  Although rejected by the magazine editors as too “radical”, the image became one of Wright’s most popular and was later transformed into a stained-glass feature for the lobby of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona.
